Arthritis Exercise
Community-based, non-clinical recreational exercise program developed by the Arthritis Foundation. Which includes activities designed to improve certain physical parameters, such as endurance and joint motion, the group exercise experience also encourages peer interaction and socialization. 16 sessions
Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease
Structured walking program that offers support, information and tools to help participants develop successful exercise routines. Individuals can choose to do the program on their own with the help of a workbook or can join others in a six-week group series led by a certified leader. During the program, participants will learn proper stretching and pain management techniques, as well as build stamina and walking pace. 18 sessions
Chair Yoga
Yoga is one of the oldest forms of physical activity. Chair yoga is designed for participants of all ages and for the flexible and inflexible. The focus when designing chair yoga routines is to help adults in achieving good comprehensive health. 6 Sessions
Living Well with Chronic Conditions
Topics include: Techniques to deal with problems such as frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation; appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance; appropriate use of medications; communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals; nutrition and how to evaluate new treatments. 6 sessions
Take Charge of Your Diabetes
A six-session, evidence-based program that helps individuals take day-to-day responsibility for their diabetes care. Participants gain skills necessary to self-manage their diabetes and work effectively with their healthcare professionals.
Stay Active & Independent for Life (SAIL)
Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) is an evidence-based program is designed to prevent falls and includes exercise classes, educational materials and self-assessments. The classes are designed specifically for older adults and focus on endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility.
SAIL classes are offered 2-3 times a week as a one-hour class, and the exercises can be done standing or sitting.
