Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP)
The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is a national initiative to reduce the development of type 2 diabetes. It is a 12-month, group based program which encourages lifestyle modifications shown to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. The DPP is designed for those who are at high risk of developing type two diabetes or who have been diagnosed with prediabetes.
Have you ever been told by a health care professional that you:
- Are you at risk for getting diabetes?
- Have prediabetes?
- Have borderline diabetes?
- Have high blood sugar or glucose?
- Had gestational diabetes?
You may be at high risk for Type 2 diabetes, but there is something you can do about it.
This program helps you create and achieve your health and weight loss goals to reduce your risk of Type 2 diabetes
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
- People with prediabetes; prediabetes means that your blood sugar is higher than normal, but it’s not high enough for type 2 diabetes.
- People who are at high risk for type 2 diabetes and want to lower their risk.
